Dieter Rams "Ten Principles" response
A Swiss Knife has a few characteristics that would fall under Dieter Rams' ten principles of design. It is easily understandable, where each function/tool is separated and easy to distinguish from one another. It would be long lasting, as each function would add up to form a single tool that can be used in multiple ways, making its usefulness endless. A Swiss Knife also has minimal design due to its main focus on function over looks, making it very practical in its design. In conclusion, a Swiss Knife has traits that fall under Dieter Rams' principles, therefore making it a well designed product.
